Matrox honors IEC

IEC Electronics Corp. has received an award as an outstanding supplier from Matrox Graphics Inc.

The award recognzes the companies' business relationship. IEC has assembled more than five million graphics cards for Matrox in the past three years.

Each Matrox graphics card is composed of a mix of the very latest in surface-mount technology (SMT): fine pitch quad flat packs and a plastic ball grid array (BGA). IEC manufactures these cards on multiple surface-mount lines, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, using high-speed vision-controlled placement equipment. IEC has been using BGAs since January 1994, and mounted almost five million BGAs in 1997.
