Volunteers met at Alex Eligh Community Center for a breakfast rally. Then they proceeded to local health and human service agencies throughout Wayne County to work on special projects for the day.

"Service providers rely heavily on volunteers," said Nadine Brill, co-chair for the Day of Caring and executive director of the American Red Cross-Wayne County Chapter (United Way's fundraising partner). "The Day of Caring is an excellent way to expose people to volunteer opportunities that are available." Brill's co-chair is Pamela Heald of WCTA Federal Credit Union.
