Dolls displayed in Marion
Dolls, dolls, dolls, were shown on April 18 at the
Marion Museum. The most elegant people with their beautiful individual faces were placed
around the Heritage Room for guests to admire and wish for. Baby Dolls, Chubby Boys,
Grandparents, Pretty Girls and Elegant Ladies were shown, many valued at over $200.
These treasures were created by Eunice Ellsworth and Lucy Decker of Marion. All of the
clothes worn by these invaluable "people" was
imagined and made by their creators.
Satins, laces, leathers, ginghams, and more, were used to make the baby clothes, ball
gowns and all of the unique, original outfits.
Lucy explained how the dolls are created from the beginning as greenware, through the
selection of the color of hair, whether it be flowing red locks or blond curls.
