Aftermath of a fire
Wednesday night's fire devastated the
property at 628 Filkins Rd., Newark. These charred remnants were all that could be found
at the scene yesterday morning.
Firefighters battled the blaze for about two hours. Veteran fireman Dick Colacino said
he not seen a fire that hot in
ten years. These melted newspaper tubes bear that out.
Also visible
is the frame of what was a tractor
trailer. When the cab burned, several loud explosions could be heard throughout the area.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
