Meet Newark BOE candidates

The Newark School District P.T.A.'s have planned a "Meet The Candidates Night." Running in this year's Board of Education election are four interested community members. They vie for two vacancies, and include incumbents Orville Martin and Ernie Mori, and newcomers Barb Wheeler and Jeff Snow.

The P.T.A.'s do not endorse school board candidates but feel all potential board members should be heard. The forum planned will create an atmosphere where the community may address candidates to gain their viewpoints on the vital issues affecting the Newark School District. Having heard views and opinions, it is hoped that the public may make an informed vote.

The forum will consist of an introduction of each candidate, similar questions asked of each candidate, an open question and answer time, and a summary of each potential board member.

The following community members will be participating in the "Meet the Candidates" forum, Tim Johnson, Hannelora Reinhardt, Elly Dawson and Mike Diamond.

"Meet the Candidate" night will be Friday, May 15, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the Newark High School, Room 300. This forum is scheduled for live broadcast on FLTV cable channel 12.

Questions to the candidates will be asked as time allows, touching as many topics as possible. Feel free to submit any suggested questions to this year's potential Newark School Board members for this forum, either by mailing them to: Kelley School P.T.A. - 701 Peirson Avenue, Newark, New York 14513; or by calling the Kelley School P.T.A. hotline number 331-5089.
