Sodus 2nd grade fundraisers

Mrs. Hooper's 2nd Grade Class in Sodus is doing a bottle and can drive to raise funds for their Summer Field Trip to Massachusetts to meet Dr. Robert Ballard, the explorer of the Titanic.

The can drive is May 16 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Dynalec in Sodus (corner of Carlton St. & Main St.). You may drop off your clean cans/bottles. Parents will go door to door for collection in the villages of Sodus and Sodus Point.

If anyone has cans/bottles and are unable to come to Dynalec or you're not on the route, call Kathy Madison at 483-6155 to arrange for pick up. They will be collecting every third Saturday of the month.

Another fundraiser is a giveaway drawing to be held on May 30 at the Super Duper Grocery Store in Sodus at 2 p.m. Tickets are to be sold for $1 each (6 for $5) for items that include: Gift certificates to restaurants, pizza shops, handcrafted items, and much more. Or stop at the Super Duper the day of the drawing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to buy tickets.

There will also be a Giveaway on June 20 at noon at The Country Hardware for a Replica of the Titanic, handcrafted by Blueberry Knoll. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. The replica will be displayed at The Country Hardware from May 29 to June 6. Tickets will also be available to purchase there. Call Melanie Castro at 483-4505 for information.
