Congratulations to Amanda Gobeyn and Scott Smith who were united in marriage on May 9, at the United Church. Members of the Women's Service Board, at the United Church are: Jeanette Stubenrod, Norma Camp, Irma Halstead, Svea Dahlberg and Shirley Stone. The Women's Circle, at the United Church, will meet at Svea Dahlberg's home at noon on May 19. American Field Service (AFS) is seeking host families for the 1998 school year. May 17, 1913 - A sum of 4,450 was appropriated for the regular support of the school at the recent annual meeting and $200 for the purpose of employing a music teacher. The Junior Choir, under the direction of Cindy Welch, presented the Ministry of Music at the Second Reformed Church on May 10. The presentation was titled, "The Fruits of the Spirit." Led by the doubles play of Paul Phelps and Peter Stevens, the tennis team returned from Clyde-Savannah (May 5) with a 5-0 victory. League record is now 3 wins, 1 loss, with a showdown coming up today with undefeated and league-leading Palmyra-Macedon.
