Imani Nia Festival in Newark

The Imani Nia Festival celebrates the African principles of faith and purpose. It will be held Saturday, May 30, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Alex Eligh Community Center, 303 East Ave., Newark.

This year's festival features a book signing and quilt presentation by Pittsburgh, PA author/artist Sandra Lee Gould Ford. There will be Gospel singing by the Rev. Jerome Milton and the Little Bethel Male Chorus, Sally Jenerson and the DonSago Dancers, specialty foods, crafts, books and clothing.

The event is sponsored by the New York State Council on the Arts, Rural Opportunities, Inc., and a N.Y.S.C.A. Decentralization Grant administered locally by Wayne County Council for the Arts.
