Mil and Vern Leenhouts spent the long Mother's Day Weekend with their daughter, Joan and Stuart Bornsteing and family of Tappan, NY.

The Women's Circle at the United Church met on May 19 at the home of Svea Dahlberg. She presented a program on News from Lake Wobegon by Garrison Keillor.

Members of the First Reformed Church will be worshipping with those at the United Church on May 24.

The Cancer Survivor's Day program will be held at Clifton Springs Hospital on June 7. This is open to the public.

Doug and Jeanette Wessie recently entertained Linda Woods and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Harris and family and Mr. and Mrs. Alan Wessie and family.

"A young mind is like gelatin. The idea is to put in lots of good stuff before it sets."

Vivian Voorhees is recuperating at home following surgery.

The Children's Day worship service and picnic, from the United Church, will be held at Forman Park on Sunday, May 31. This is the day of worship, fellowship and picnicing meant for everyone in the congregation.

Marion's Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 25. Line up at 5:30 at the Marion Fire Hall. Step off is at 6 p.m.

If you wish to have your child's sports team published in the newspaper, please forward a picture. I have had no contact from the schools this year.

May 31, 1913: Memorial Day will be observed in the usual way, address at 2 pm by C.T. Ennis of Lyons after which the line will form and headed by the band will march to the cemetery where the ritual services will take place at the soldier's monument.

The Marion Class of 1978 is planning their 20th reunion on August 1. They have been unable to obtain the addresses of the following classmates: Bob Beiter, Ken Bird, Don Collins, Karen Emery, Karen Forschler, Gary French, Pam Hack, Charles Hewett, Shirley Hutt, Tim Kuhn, Danny Lee, Betsy Loren, Tina May, Linda Melleck Woodworth, Bill Mullin, Dave Powers, Mike Scrooby, Tracy Silco, Dan Pallazo, Bill Stramonine, Tom Trost, Tim Philbee, Dan Walding, Vinnie DiNicola, Bob Welling, Patty Donovan, Tim Davenport, Veronica Harmon, Debbie Hotel and Eric Deutschbein.
