tea roseRoses already?!

I just couldn't believe it when I saw them last night. It's not even Memorial Day yet, and there are roses beginning to bloom in my garden!

I was sitting at the kitchen table when I glanced out the back door and saw a flash of red. I thought about it, then grabbed the camera. (The first bloom pictured is on an antique tea rose, the second is the red climber that I saw from the kitchen.)

The usual Memorial Day bloomers have all but faded - an early bloom because of the mild winter, they tell me - but roses in May?
