marks year at Kelley

The 645 students at Newark's Kelley Elementary School have taken a liking to Gary Brookins. He has been in Newark slightly over a year.

Brookins, who moved to Newark with his wife Patsy, from Charlotte, North Carolina, was originally from Norwich, New York. Brookins describes Wayne County weather as great!

It is always a pleasure to hear someone comment about our community in a positive manner. Brookins refers to Newark as "a safe, concerned, and friendly village."

"Newark has a great many things. I'm not sure everyone appreciates what a nice community Newark is," said Brookins.

In commenting on the proposed building project, he indicated that the district needs the project to be approved, and that the space is needed badly. He believes the project will enable the education system to progress into the new millennium.

His grade 3-5 students include Sean Zornow, who is pictured here with Principal Brookins.
