Veterans Day

A cold, blustery day faced Veterans as they gathered in Newark's Central Park this morning. The parade was cancelled due to the extreme winds and wind chill, but the high school band marched into the Central Park playing music as planned.

The speakers are pictured: Newark VFW Post 2883 Commander Harold Carlson; Newark American Legion Post 286 Commander Rick Carr; and the Rev. Michael Marshall, Pastor of Maranatha Baptist Church in Lyons.

Also pictured is Mayor Fred Pirelli as he introduced the speakers.
