Elvis sighted in Myrtle Beach

Jim Sadler as ElvisWhen Jim Sadler of Newark was making plans to see the Celebration '98 Show at the Alabama Theatre in Myrtle Beach, SC he didn't expect to see Elvis. And he certainly didn't expect to be Elvis. But on the night of October 9, Sadler did the King proud.

Sadler, Highway Manager in the Village of Newark, electrified the crowd in the 2,000-seat theatre with his impromptu rendition of Presley's Hound Dog, complete with cape and glasses, during that evening's performance of the Celebration '98 Show. Sadler was selected from the crowd by the show's performers, and he proved to be a good sport.

"Mr. Sadler looked like he had fun with it, and the people sitting around him gave him a lot of support," stated Bob Wood, President of the Alabama Theatre. "The Elvis performance is a real crowd favorite, and the cast gets to have some fun with the audience."

The Opryland-produced show is two hours of high-energy family fun, filled with a dynamic mix of music, dance, and comedy. The show is performed 6 nights a week at 8 p.m. at the Alabama Theatre at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
