Marion Library News

Join other readers across the country in voting for the books you most enjoyed reading in 1998. Books must have been published in '98. Stop by the Marion Public Library and pick up your ballot. Ballots must be submitted to the Library by December 7.

The Library now has the Encyclopedia Americana Online and Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia Online available for public use on our Ronald McDonald multimedia computer. This comprehensive package provides a wealth of authoritative editorial content, engaging multi-media materials, and cutting-edge Internet access by way of thousands of preselected and frequently updated hyperlinks to the World Wide Web.

These two encyclopedias have earned critical praise for integrity and reliability of content as well as excellent interface design and incorporation of multimedia.

Also available on the library's multi-media computer is Electric Library, an online reference center. This is an easy to use electronic database of documents and images from respected publishers including magazines, journals, newspapers, TV, radio, books and others. There are also maps, photos and other images.

Last, but not least, don't forget the Angel Tree. It looks as if this year we will have the largest number of Angels ever. Come take an angel and, while you're at it, remind your friends and family about this most worthy project.
