It will make a nice addition to our new room. There is a Tuesday, December 1 bus trip to Glenn Anthony Christmas Luncheon Matinee at the Hearthstone Manor in DePew, NY. There will be a stop at "Vidler's Old Fashioned 5 and 10" and to the Festival of Lights on both the US and Canadian sides. The price is $50.00 and reservations and money must be in by October 19 to Virginia Lupold in Palmyra. The bus leaves at 8 a.m. and returns at 9 p.m. You will need your proof of citizenship. Wouldn't the former Presbyterian Church be a marvelous place for the Marion Museum and perhaps where old and young could congregate? Let's not lose any more historic landmarks. Congratulations to Fred and Jeannette Stubenrod as they celebrate their 62nd Wedding Anniversary on Wednesday, September 30. "Invite A Friend Sunday" will be held October 4, at the United Church. Plans are moving along for the PIG ROAST, which the Missions Committee at the United Church is sponsoring. The meal will be prepared and served at the Masonic Lodge as the kitchen facilities at the church are not yet available. "Every household should have a filing cabinet upon which to stack important papers." Freeze ripe tomatoes if you have a surplus. Rinse gently and pat completely dry. Then, freeze whole in a freezer-weight zip-tight plastic bag for up to 6 months. Use right from the freezer, in soups and stews. Dolly Salerno has returned home after being a hospital patient. Nancy DeFisher has had recent cataract surgery in Florida.
"Have a Blast in October" is the title of Youth Night in the Second Reformed Church's Education Building on October 10 from 7:30-10 p.m. Basketball, volleyball, ping-pong, videos, games and much more. It is hoped that everyone will vote for the Library Proposition at the coming election, as the Library is too valuable an asset to the town to be given up. Marion Homecoming - October 9 and 10. Monday, October 12 - COLUMBUS DAY - no school. The Marion Firemen's Auction is Saturday, October 3 beginning at 10 a.m. I heard more about Cynthia Steurrys's 90th birthday. Cynthia came to this country at the age of two years from the Netherlands with her parents Isaac and Adrianna VanGee. They settled in this area and she was raised with six sisters and three brothers. She still lives in her own home on the Minsteed Road in Marion, which has been her home for 65 years. Happy Birthday, Cynthia.
