Volunteers needed for Humane Society

Do you love animals? Would you like to help a good cause? Volunteering can be fun and personally rewarding. The Humane Society of Wayne County is looking for dedicated volunteers to help support their Shelter operation, programs and fund raising events.

There are many volunteer opportunities at the Animal Shelter. Depending on your experience and interest, you can help by walking dogs or playing with the cats. For those who are more adventurous and like to roll up their sleeves, cleaning kennels and cages, feeding animals and grooming are some other examples of how you can help.

The Humane Society is also looking for volunteers for their education program, Adopt-A-Pet program and fund raising events, Pet Fair, Dog Walk-a-Thon. Pasta Dinner and the Tree of Lights are the annual Humane Society events. During these events, we need people to help plan and organize the event, distribute flyers, bake goodies, sell tickets, and help with the set-up and clean-up.

If you are interested and at least 17 years old, please call 315-946-3389 or stop in and fill out a volunteer application form. The Humane Society of Wayne County Shelter is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
