Newark varsity golf

The Newark Reds golf team ended its spectacular season on October 9 with a forfeit victory over the Midlakes Screaming Eagles at the Newark Country Club.

Newark 12-1 overall and 11-1 in the Finger Lakes league finished its Finger Lakes championship season on a high note. Junior Ed Reid shot a one over par 37 to lead the Reds. Brent Burgess shot a 40, followed by Ben Williams and Josh DePorter's 43's and Ben Converse's 44.

The Reds were coached by Jay Lauer. Ben Williams, Ed Reid, Brent Burgess and Josh DePorter competed at the Sectional qualifying tournament held earlier this week.
