Sodus Point Dog Show
There were two main animal events - one was obedience and the other was a test of agility. The Agility Competition looked tough (I know I couldn't have done it). The dogs flew through raised tires, as well as jumped over fences, ran an obstacle course and through tubes. The dog owners led the dogs along the course, encouraging all the way.
Ruth's Girl Scout Troop sold cold drinks to quench your thirst while you wandered,
enjoying the many different dog breeds that attended the show. There were Afghan Hounds,
many yellow and chocolate Labradors, Beagles, Dalmatians, Corgies, Collies, Australian
Sheepdogs and Pomeranians, just to mention a few.
My kids thought our dog Caesar should go and they felt he'd have had a good time. But being a Westie, I was afraid he'd have too good of a time and be a big (in a small body) distraction. Who knows? Maybe next year. And if you missed this year's show, be sure to look for it in 1999. (Ruth, please remind me...) Copyright © 1998 |
