The Humane Society of Wayne County will hold its 2nd Annual Dog Walk-A-Thon on Sunday, September 20 from noon to 4. The event will be located at Silver Hill Technology Park (formerly Stuart Park) on Rt. 88 South, Newark. What can you do if you are an animal lover or a person who cares about the welfare of other creatures? Walk. You and your dog can volunteer to walk on September 20, and earn money for the Shelter by walking and by getting others to sponsor you with pledges and donations. This is also great fun for you and your dog! Get your sponsor form at any of the following locations: Humane Society of Wayne County Shelter, Lyons; Palmyra Agway; Chase-Pitkin, Newark; Ontario Farm and Garden; Bob's Big M in Wolcott; Paton's Super Duper in Sodus; Prudential Rochester Realty in Macedon; or have a sponsor form mailed to you from the shelter by calling 946-3389. Sponsor. If you can't walk that day, then sponsor a Dog Walk-A-Thon walker or sponsor yourself by sending a donation to the Humane Society of Wayne County. Volunteer. You can help on Walk Day with setting up the route, registering and assisting walkers or with clean up. Call Andrea Meyer at 986-1287 if you can help.
