tennis update

The girls tennis team picked up a 4-2 win over Aquinas last Friday at Newark. In first singles Kelly Shannon of Aquinas defeated Heather DeMay 6-2, 6-0.

Jessica Moon (pictured) won at second singles over Melissa Marano 6-4, 6-0. Third singles Robin Chappell of Newark over Amanda Honeyman 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.

In fourth singles Heather Grahling (N) defeated Kate Machetti 6-4, 6-4.

Marissa MacDonald and Sara Missell defeated Newark doubles team Emily Howard and Miranda Clark 7-5, 6-4.

Second doubles: Julie Martin and Katrina Quigley defeated Eileen Kubiak and Emily Mason 6-0, 6-0.

On September 10 the Reds tied the Mynderse Academy Blue Devils 3-3.

The Newark JV picked up a 3-2 win over the Lyons Lions. Rachel Durfee defeated Cassandra Bullock 11-9 at second singles. Brett Norton defeated Emily Wunder 10-0. Lynzee Salerno lost a 10-5 decision to Rhonda Everdyke.
