Volunteers honored at Red Cross dinner
The guest speaker was Donald Dudley, CEO, New York Penn Blood Region. Dinner was prepared by members of the American Legion, where the event was held. Red Cross volunteer projects include blood pressure readings, health fairs at high schools, information booths at the County Fair and Derby Days, First Aid stations at County Fair, Derby Days and Canaltown Days, radio interviews with WACK and WNNR radio, blood presentations, and presentations to civic groups.
Disaster chair Sharon Tyo is pictured, as is new disaster services volunteer Brenda Benham of Sodus. Benham is the postmaster at Alton Post Office.
Vince Craft of Palmyra chairs the First Aid services, Sharon Tyo and Jackie Dishaw take care of Disaster response. First to respond after the Labor Day storm were Tyo, Dishaw and Deb Hellert, since Director Brill was out of the county for the weekend.
