Respiratory advisory in Newark

A fire at Ultra Tech in Newark has resulted in a Respiratory Advisory in the village. Residents are asked to remain indoors with windows closed until the advisory has been lifted. The elderly and those with respiratory problems should particularly heed this warning. The Red Cross has set up a temporary shelter at the Alex Eligh Community Center on East Ave. Emergency personnel is at this time on the site of the battery manufacturing plant on Rt. 88 South.
