Park Presbyterian series starts

The Fall Series at Park Presbyterian Church starts on Wednesday, Sept. 30 and continues for several weeks. This week's topic is Coping with Violence, and the speaker is Nadine Brill of the American Red Cross. The program runs from 7-9 p.m., at the Newark church.

Brill will give suggestion on being prepared for violence brought on by events such as severe storms and fires.

Brill will talk about the effects of natural violence on families, children and the elderly. Red Cross meets the physical needs of victims and provides emotional support through mental health workers.

After the Labor Day storm, workers in an ERV (Emergency Rescue Vehicle) went into hard-hit neighborhoods and counseled and comforted the residents.
