Missing Sodus Last weekend and this past week went a long way toward ending my Cabin Fever! Happy April Birthday to Robert Hooper who will be celebrating on April 8. How old are you again? (His brother, Brian, just had a birthday in March, and I believe Susan has one in May - a birthday party-a-month! Sounds like fun!) I spoke to Eileen Hooper the other day, the family went to Florida to visit family and friends for a week. While there, the Hooper family visited Betty, Eileen's Mom. (Now that the weather is getting nice up here, Betty can't wait to come back, but she's more cautious then the geese - she'll be back the end of May.) The family did some sight-seeing and enjoyed the beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Sounds nice, doesn't it? The Sodus Point Community Association is offering rose bushes for sale until April 28. They are Jackson & Perkins Peace roses and are selling for $15. (Great Mother's Day gifts!) Order by sending your name, address, phone number and payment to the Sodus Point Community Association, P.O Box 126, Sodus Point, NY 14555. You can pick your roses up at the Sodus Point Community Center on Saturday, May 1, from 9-11 a.m. The Sodus Free Library will be participating in the "Great Read Aloud" - probably on Sunday, April 11. Carol Garland will keep us up to date. She sent me a list of the new adult fiction books that have come into the Sodus Library:
Don't forget that National Library week will be coming up in April 11-17. I'm certain the students at the primary schools will be celebrating. The Sodus Library has Monday morning Story Hour with Helen Combes at 10:30. There is no need to register and the children are always invited to just drop in. (Your child can enjoy the Story Hour while you browse through the new book selection.) The Williamson Library storytime with Mrs. Gravelle on Wednesdays has come to an end, but I'm certain Mrs. Gravelle has others planned. We'll keep you updated. I hope you were able to attend a few of them, they are always fun and interesting. Thank you to everyone who has kept me up to date on all of the events in Wayne County, I truly appreciate your help and support. If you have anything you'd like to add, write to me at I'm looking forward to hearing from you. And Have a Happy Easter! Copyright © 1999 |
