St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Newark will be holding its eighth annual Garden Faire and Tearoom on Saturday, May 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The faire has become an annual spring event in Newark. Expert and novice gardeners alike enjoy the festive atmosphere of the St. Mark's courtyard as they shop for perennials, annuals and herbs. For those in need of gardening advice, the Wayne County Cooperative Extension will once again have a table staffed by the Master Gardeners to answer questions. Floral arts and crafts will also be for sale, and there will be several raffled items including a handsome red cedar arbor valued at over $400. Inside St. Mark's, you may relax in the company of friends in the elegant Tearoom. For a donation of six dollars you will enjoy fine tea and an exceptional selection of sandwiches, scones and desserts. Seating starts at 11 a.m. and continues until 2 p.m. Each year geraniums can be purchased throughout April and May to be picked up on the day of the faire. Proceeds from this year's pre-sale will be donated to the Pediatrics at Viahealth of Wayne, Newark Hospital. If you would like to order geraniums please contact the church office at 331-3610.
