Lady Clay Busters shoot in Red Creek The Red Creek Conservation Club's "Lady Clay Busters" displayed some impressive shooting at the annual Good Friday Shoot. "Every year we have a fun shoot for members," said Lorraine Searle, coordinator for the Lady Clay Busters. "This year a few more ladies joined in and we had such a great day we decided to take it to the next level, which was to form a group of lady shooters." The shooting sports, including five stand, skeet, trap, and sporting clays, have all gained popularity over the years and Searle believes now is the time to encourage women to partake in this exciting outdoor recreation. "We really enjoyed ourselves today," Searle said. "When the guys shoot they tend to be more competitive. We also enjoy the camaraderie involved with the sport, however I think we laugh more. After women get over the issue of intimidation, they find that shooting is really a lot of fun." The Red Creek Conservation Club is open to the public and any women wishing to join the Lady Clay Busters and try their hand at the shooting sports can contact Lorraine Searle at 594-8589 after 5 p.m. They may call the club on weekends at 754-6459 or call the Wayne County Office of Tourism at 1-800-527-6510.
