Students receive Myers Twig scholarships The Myers Twig Association has awarded the 1999 Doris Lawrence Memorial New Visions Scholarship to two area graduates, Erin Kolberg of Williamson and Chad Moorman of Sodus. Kolberg and Moorman were participants in the BOCES New Visions Medical Careers Program at ViaHealth of Wayne's Myers facility. The program is designed to give students who are interested in health-related fields first-hand experience in the industry. In the program, students spend part of their day in class at the hospital and the rest of their time shadowing employees from departments throughout the facility. By the end of the year, the students have had an opportunity to work in nearly every hospital department. The scholarship awards go to students who plan to continue their education in a health care related field. Kolberg plans to attend the University of West Virginia to study speech pathology and Moorman will attend SUNY Morrisville this fall and then transfer to a four-year college after two years to study pre-med.
