Marion Library News A fun-filled summer of reading is winding down at the Marion Public Library. Over 200 participants celebrated reading during July and August. Winners in the weekly drawings were: Micaela Casler, Kristin Cummings, Amberly Whitney, Joe Calabrese, Trish Boss, Cody Engelson, Anne Gigliotti, Kelsey Johnson, Melissa Cummings, Maude Finch, Rachel Thomas, Stephanie Clark, Christy Clark, Jeffrey Brannan, Heather Raes, Christopher Stack, Heather Franke, Joe Chopan, Raven Taber, Dorothy Lootens, Laura Lang, Matt Burgio, Sarah Mackey, Judy Casler, Matther Bergen, Alyssa Mann, Kristin Zeh, and Deb Leeuwen. Many thanks to the local merchants Marion Pharmacy, Mary Ellen's Main Street Cafe, The Marion Agency and Marion Tec Glass for their support, making this program possible. Thanks also to the Friends of the Library. Due to the fact that the Heritage Days Festival was held in the park, it was not possible for the Friends to have their annual Fall book sale. This sale will be held on October 16, in the courtyard at Mary Ellen's Main Street Cafe. The Marion Historic Committee will be sponsoring a program of historic craft demonstrations, sales of merchandise, etc. Tracy Whitney will be on hand for face painting. Set the date aside and join us for a downtown day of fun. Starting September 10 there will be a book and craft sidewalk sale on Friday afternoons. Copyright © 1999 |
