Happenings DON'T plan to go to the 8th Grade Supper on December 6. It's been postponed! Punkey's Place has opened at 3732 Mill Street. Hours for the restaurant are: Mon-Thur 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Watch for their GRAND OPENING. They are serving daily specials at breakfast and lunchtime, with a special Fish Fry on Fridays. On November 23, Rog and Gen Adriaansen attended the induction of their granddaughter, Laura Adriaansen into the National Honor Society at the School of the Arts in Rochester. Laura is the daughter of Tom and Therese Adriaansen of Rochester. Our family gathered at Miceli's Restaurant, in Macedon for a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner. After stuffing ourselves and then having another piece of pie, we journeyed to sister, Linda Roeland's for the remainder of the afternoon. Linda's son, Todd, was home from New York City and aunts, uncles, and cousins caught up on the latest news. Our mother, Florence Martin, joined us for the day. We all have much to be thankful for. Would you believe, we had water in the cellar with the last rainfall? Jerry Ellsworth of Albany came to Marion to spend the Thanksgiving weekend with his mother, Eunice. They enjoyed being together and loved the delicious Thanksgiving Dinner served at the Garlock House, in Palmyra. Howard and Ruth Vice announce the birth of a great-granddaughter, Clara Marie Clark, on October 12. Happy parents are Angela and Jeramony Clark. Lillian Cherrier, of Sunset Drive, spent Thanksgiving with her daughter, Debbie Farnsworth and family, at Seneca Falls. Nathan DePoint presented the Ministry of Music on November 25 at the Second Reformed Church. DECEMBER 7, 1933: Beet workers at the Wayne County Canning Company enjoyed a chicken dinner at the home of Mrs. Fred Hodges on this day. Evelyn VerPlank is now in residence at the DeMay Living Center in Newark. Remember: the open house at the PLANT LADY on Goosen Rd. in Marion on December 2, 3, 4 and 11. "People don't grow old. When they stop growing, they become old." Marion 4th Grade Winter Concert- Wednesday, December 8, 7:30 p.m. at the Elementary School. Plan a drive down Union Street to see the lovely decorated houses, ready for the holidays. Be sure to watch for the home of Dakota Hance and his family. It is "really beautiful." The Thanksgiving display gracing the sanctuary at the United Church was designed by Linda Schutt. Congratulations to Bill and Dori McKay and family as they welcome a new son, Colin William, born on November 5. My Christmas shopping is all done, thanks to the JC Penney catalog and QVC. Stan DeNearing has returned home following surgery. Bill and Nancy Bouwens, of Orange City, FL have been visiting with their sister, Maude Finch for the past two weeks. They have enjoyed shopping and visiting with family at the home of their brother Jcaob and Sue Bouwens of Newark. The boys got to go deer hunting and Bill was able to bag one! They will soon be returning home and will be happy to meet their new granddaughter, Jamie Connor, born on November 20 to James and Chris Bouwens of Oveida, FL. Debi, Ron and daughter, Miya Keizer and Holley Van Staalduinen of Grand Rapids, Michigan spent the holiday with mother, Joanne DeVries and with John and Fran VanStaelduinen and family. Vern and Mil Leenhouts spent the long Thanksgiving weekend with their daughter, Joan and Stuart Bornstein and family at their home in Tappan. Copyright © 1999 |
