Congratulations to Sue Luckman of Marion for winning the framed watercolor print of North Main Street (co. 1850-1900) in the Marion Historic Association raffle. This is a charming print by artist, Michelle Palmer and the third in a series depicting 'Old Marion.' The prints are available from the Historic Association and, make a wonderful gift for only $25.50. Beside the prints, other gift ideas that are unique to Marion for sale at the Museum Gift Shop. Prices start as low as $3.75 for packages of Marion Print notecards. Arola Beadle continues to recover from surgery.

This evening is the roast beef supper at the Marion American Legion Home on Witherden Road. Servings are from 5-7:30 p.m. Don't miss this family style supper.

Joe Bushart suffered a fall at the Armstrong Senior Living in Newark.

The beautiful Christmas wreaths hanging on the doors of the United Church were designed and decorated by Linda Schutt. The holly has been cut from the bushes grown by the Levans.

The Canaltown Chorale will present a Christmas concert on December 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, in Lyons. The program, 'The Joys of Christmas,' will be composed of traditional favorites and solo renditions celebrating Christmastide.

December 14 - Marion 5th and 6th Grade Band Winter Concert 7:30 p.m. at the elementary auditorium

December 15 - Winter Concert of Marion 5th and 6th Grade Chorus and Junior-Senior High School Vocal and Instrumental Groups- 7:30 p.m. High School Auditorium.

Stan and Isabelle Bushart have returned from a trip to El Paso, Texas, where they visited their son, Rev. Kevin Bushart and his family. Also visiting was Betty Marshall from Carterton, England. Betty is the mother of Kim Bushart. Kevin was recently appointed as pastor of the Tobin Park United Methodist Church in El Paso. Kevin and Kim and their three daughters moved to El Paso in August. The Busharts drove to Ruldoso, New Mexico and enjoyed the mountain and desert scenery. Upon their return to Rochester, they were able to celebrate the 50th birthday of their son, David, with a dinner at his home in Scottsville before driving back to Marion.

Remember when we wore winter boots called 'Arctics'? And when we wore them unbuckled how they would click-click as we walked!

Christmas tree: 'Any well-shaped evergreen 5 to 7 feet in height, situated on public land or in a remote area of private land, that can be transferred from its habitat to the roof of an automobile in less than 10 minutes.'

'Happy Birthday' to Virginia VanderBrook on December 6, from her family and friends.

Winners of the door prizes at the United Church bazaar were: Gerry VanKouwenberg, the reamed cross-stitch, stitched by Jeanette Losey and framed by Wilson framing. The quillo, made by Milda Crayton, was won by Bunny Sewert.

The 8th grade girls basketball team won game number four. It was a 24-20 double OT win over Red Creek. Danielle DeLyser lead the team with 10 points, Suzanna DeFisher added 7, and Mary Boerman had 5 points. The 7th grade girls also defeated Red Creek.
