Missing Sodus Well, Christmas week is now upon us. I went to a grocery store the other day and bought the cute reindeer cookies. (I had so many cookies to bake for school this week that I decided to bake the cut-off cookies this time. They'd make things a little easier. While I baked the reindeer, I could frost my daughter's 30 cookies.) My son got to take the colorful M&M cookies. My condolences to the family and many friends of Father David Faraone. Father Dave was loved by many, his death is a great loss. I would like to thank everyone who has helped me by sending information during the past year. I am looking forward to the new year, though it does look really strange to write 2000. Thanks for all the kind notes. I'm very happy you have enjoyed the column. Anything you'd like to have added, just write to me at
Carol Garland of the Sodus Library is being visited by her daughter Becky. Becky is in the Peace Corps and is home for a visit after 2 years and 3 months in Tanzania, East Africa. (Enjoy your visit Carol, you'll have a lot to catch up on.) Becky will find it a little different getting used to our modern technology and conveniences. (I'm sure it won't take too long to adjust though. ) The Williamson Library will be having special guests on January 5. The program will be open to the entire community. It is a Holiday Mummers Pageant and will be held Wednesday, January 5 at 7 p.m. Bells and Motley will have a special presentation with a spirited musical cast in costume. Everyone will experience the traditions of far-away times and places. At the beginning of the presentation, there will be a Wassail Bowl for all the guests to share, with the traditional English Wassail Toast to bring in the new year with good health and happiness. Sounds like a fun and educational evening. Have you been taking the time to read a few of the Holiday stories and /or the videos?
The libraries have Enjoy the Holidays and watch out for each other. Kids, help your Moms and Dad. Have a great Christmas and be good ...Santa's watching? Did you know there is coal gum? My son was given a small bag of coal gum - really cute. (Wonder why she gave him a bag of coal anyway? Better find out if he'd like to explain.) Copyright © 1999 |
