Photos needed for 'history' book

The Wayne County Historical Society has begun work writing text and compiling pictures for the Wayne County Pictorial book that will be released later this year. This limited edition will give an extensive photographic account of Wayne County's 175 year history.

"Most town historians and town historical societies have been great, responding by loaning pictures from their individual areas," says Andrea Evangelist, Executive Director of the Wayne County Historical Society. "What we are lacking are pictures of events where groups of people are pictured."

The Society is requesting pictures that portray groups of people shown at social gatherings, dedications or political functions, record hops, church socials, local theater or musical productions, fairs, circuses, carnivals, etc. The printer has requested that photographs, not photocopies, be used for quality printing. All photographs will be returned to the owner after publication, if requested. The Society will also gratefully accept the donation of photographs to add to the Museum's permanent collection.
