Missing Sodus Please note my new e-mail address. (And please use it for all your news, events and happenings.) The girls in the Clark family have been busy. Patty and Becky are members of the wrestling team. In fact, Patty was at a tournament and brought home a third place trophy. Congratulations! Their mom, Alice, has been busy as well - she is now an official substitute teacher anxiously awaiting her next assignment. The Sodus second graders went on a field trip to the Palace Theater in Wolcott to see It's a Bug's Life. (Did you say 'hi' to Amber Roberts for me?) To celebrate St. Valentine's Day, the Sodus Pre-K classes were planning a Pizza party for today. The fun is to include bumper bowling at Cherry Lanes. It must be a month for bowling - the Cub Scouts, the Girl Scouts and now the pre-K! I've got to get out my ball and shoes and go too! The Sodus Chamber of Commerce is looking for candidates for their Annual Citizen of the Year Award. Letters of nomination should be mailed to the Chamber at PO Box 187, Sodus, NY 14551 and received by March 14. The Sodus Lions Club has been busy raffling a Harley-Davidson. The lucky winner will be drawn on Valentine's Day, Sunday at 3 p.m. at Country Hardware. The Church of Epiphany is welcoming Father Simeon Gallagher to the Parish this week. He will be having conferences the 15th through the 17th: Building Good Relationships - Faith as Foundation: Sunday, February 14th at 7 p.m. and Monday the 15th at 9:30 a.m. Communication - Prayer as a Model: Monday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. and at 9:30 a.m. on the 16th. Breaking Relationships - Sin as Interpersonal: Tuesday the 16th at 7 p.m. and again the 17th at 9:30 a.m. Sustaining Good Relationships - Elements for Growth: Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 18 at 9:30 a.m. From what people have said about Father Simeon, he must be a remarkable man. "...Thanks to his ministry, people of faith have the opportunity to stop, refuel and reflect." It should be a great week for all those able to attend. The Lenten Breakfasts will begin on Ash Wednesday and for the first one, Father Dave Faraone will be cooking with the ministers in the community. Father Simeon will be speaking. The breakfasts will begin at 6:45 a.m. and will be over by 8. The Feb. 17 breakfast will be at the United Third Methodist Church. If your group has an event, a fundraiser or other news, please share with me. I'm Missing Sodus! Copyright © 1999 |
