Marbletown residents look for answers Virtually no new information was available to Marbletown area residents who attended the Town Planning Board meeting on Monday night. Paul Russell, engineer for the developers of Miller Estates, answered questions about the project posed by Planning Board chairman, Edwin VanQueckelburg and residents. Russell explained that preliminary designs for the manufactured home area are not finshed, and no new information could be gained until these are avilable. Marty Aman, of MRB Group, engineers for the Town of Arcadia, listed the major issues that will need to be dealt with:
The Town of Arcadia is the lead agency for the project with the county and state involved in the review. One of the prepared questons asked was: Russell answered very honestly, "in the ground." This was followed by the question of whether the soil is capable of filtering the wastewater. A great deal of discusion was held concerning how tests were to be done, and whether the tests would be done according to state guidelines, and were the neighboring wells to be tested at the same time. Marbletown resident Rob Byers sharply criticized the track record of the developers in other parks that they own and operate. Town attorney David Saracino explained that the only project that the Planning and Town Boards were required to be concerned with was the project in question. Saracino went on to say that much engineering information is still being prepared, but cautioned all present that if the developers meet all regulations and requirements set forth by town zoning laws, the DEC and the county, the town is required to issue a permit to allow the park.
