Yosemite travelogue in Newark

Newark Public Library will present a travelogue on Yosemite and other California national parks on January 14. Chris Davis, of Newark, will give the program.

Davis has traveled to the western United States many times. The slides he will show of Yosemite National Park were taken before last year's major flooding. Slides will include the well-known landmarks, such as Half Dome and El Capitan, and a hike down the Glacier Trail.

Davis will also show slides of Death Valley National Park, Sequoia National Park, Lassen Volcanic National Park, and Redwoods National Park.

Slides of Redwoods will include the Lady Bird Johnson Grove, the Fern Grove (where parts of the movie Jurassic Park were filmed), and seaside vistas.

The program, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 7 p.m. and will be held in the library's Community Room. Pre-registration at 331-4370 is requested.
