County organizes for 1999 The Wayne County Board of Supervisors met Monday morning to organize for 1999. There were no surprises when elections took place: Supervisor Marvin Decker of Wolcott remains Chairman of the Board; County Administrator Dan Kane retains his positions as Clerk of the Board and Budget Officer; Kay Groover will again serve as Deputy Clerk, Deputy Budget Officer and Purchasing Agent. Supervisor Donna Chittenden of Sodus will carry on as Majority Leader for the GOP, and Louis DeLisio was named Minority Leader. The 1999 Standing Committee assignments are the same as last year, and the official newspapers of the Board will be the Wayne County Star and the Wayne Weekly. Following recommendations from the County Republican and Democratic parties, the Board appointed as Election Commissioners Leo Jenkins and Thomas Healy. The two Commissioners will serve two-year terms at an annual salary of $8,700 each. The Board also issued its annual order to quarantine all dogs from January 10 to April 15, to protect the deer population.
