Rotary Club Paul Harris Fellows Four members of Newark Rotary Club were named Paul Harris Fellows at Thursday's luncheon meeting.
Helmuth Reinhardt was born in Croatia, Yugoslavia. His family became refugees during World War II and resettled in Austria, where he received his education. He holds a degree in engineering. He immigrated to the United States in 1957 and moved to Newark in 1960. Helmuth was a member of the Newark Junior Chamber of Commerce and participated in many community projects. In 1969, he was invited to join the Newark Rotary Club and has achieved 29 years of perfect attendance. In the past he has been a member of the Board of Directors and has worked on numerous committees such Public Relations, Newsletter, Programs, International Service and Group Study Exchange. He is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He served on the Council for 32 years and as Chairman of the Congregation for 28 years. He chaired the Refugee Committee which sponsored two Laotian families. During his working career he received many recognitions including the prestigious Prudential "Friends for Life" award given annually to a person who exemplifies high ethics, integrity, and service. He and Hannelora are the parents of two sons.
He joined Rotary in 1962 and for 30 years had perfect attendance. He is now on senior
active-excused status. Larson has served on the Board of Directors and given countless
hours delivering Meals on Wheels.
Beth attended Monroe Community College for two years and married Geoff Eggert. The Eggerts purchased a small school-supply vending business. They purchased Newark Stationery in 1987 and moved to the Jackson-Perkins homestead at 310 High Street in 1990. She was widowed soon after relocating to Newark. Beth joined Newark Rotary Club and married fellow Rotarian Gerry Palmer. She was a host mother for a Rotary exchange student, became club chairperson for Youth Exchange and joined the district committee. Her family has hosted several exchange students, from Sweden, Hungary, the Netherlands, Spain and Turkey. Her daughters, Marnie and Lindsay, have participated in Rotary exchange programs and she is presently District Country representative for New Zealand.
He was a member of Newark-Arcadia Volunteer Ambulance for 14 years, as an EMT and I.V. Therapy Technician. He founded his business, Advanced Security Engineering, in 1973. He has been a member of Newark Rotary Club for 17 years and has served on the Board of The Newark Club. The Newark Rotarians donated $1000 in each Fellow's name, to the Rotary International Foundation. This, in turn, names the four - Reinhardt, Larson, Palmer and Dotschkal - as Paul Harris Fellows.
