Monday, January 11, Marion PTA will meet at 3:45 p.m. in the Marion Elementary Faculty Room.

Marsha Ver Plank, Peter and children Ian and Dana traveled from Georgia to spend a week with Marsha's parents Chuck and June Ver Plank on Witherden Rd. for the holidays. It was a very busy week shopping, wrapping and just enjoying the time together. Christmas morning was a treat with the grand children. Santa found them even in New York. They were also hoping to play in the snow in NY but the weather didn't cooperate, maybe next time.

A Christmas ham dinner with the family was enjoyed with other guests, Abe Ver Plank, James DeVoogt, Susanne Milliman and daughters Heather and Sarah at the Chuck Ver Plank home on Witherden Rd.

Twenty-six members of the Bushart family, (sons, daughters, spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren) gathered at the home of Stan and Isabelle Bushart on the day after Christmas for food, fun and gifts. Voices and laughter indicated a good time was had by all.

Steve and Michelle Bliek spent the Christmas weekend with her sister Dan and Carol Munson and daughter, Danielle, of Watertown. All enjoyed seeing Danielle's excitement with her Christmas gifts from Santa.

JANUARY 3, 1935 - Marion will join with Williamson in having a Birthday Ball for President Roosevelt on Wednesday, Jan. 30. The ball will be held in the Williamson High School auditorium. Stanley Rogers is the general chairman for Marion and Walter Wagner for Williamson.

Cindy, Ralph and Jeremy Minnick traveled from Maryland for the holidays. While here they stayed with their Dad, James DeVoogt. They enjoyed getting together and going out for breakfast.

A Ver Plank family gathering was held at the home of Phyllis and Dale Bliek and daughter Christina on Saturday. There was exchanging of gifts, a delicious Brunch Buffet and afternoon snacks and a Santa cake enjoyed by all the grandchildren. Those attending were Susanne Milliman, daughters Heather and Sarah, Charles and Valgeen Ver Plank from Newark and their children Lisa, Zachary and Elizabeth, Marsha Ver Plank, Peter Gillens and children Ian and Dana from Atlanta, GA; Paul Jeremenico from Clyde and James DeVoogt from Marion. A good time was had by all just enjoying the children and the food.

On December 18, the Junior Varsity girls basketball team beat Gananda with a score of 30 to 22.

With Jenny Devlin getting in early foul trouble other team members stepped up to fill in. Leading the way was Wendy Brusso with 9 points and 7 rebounds. Also, helping under the hoop was Kate Pentland and Angela Green both getting 6 rebounds. Angela had 4 steals.

Varsity basketball: On Dec. 21 it was Marion 52, Clyde-Savannah 48: Senior forward Mary Lanzone scored 18 points and Shannon Gaston and Elizabeth Boerman added 11 apiece.Megan DiSanto scored 22 points for the visiting Golden Eagles (4-2, 3-1).

The JV played hard but lost the game 19-36. Top scorers were Devlin with eight and Lisa Colling with three points.
