The Class of 1939 recently held their 60th anniversary reunion at the Newark Ameican Legion. The event was organized by Betty Hillageer, Man) Morrison, Irene Pulver, Myrtle Huntley, Doris Krocke, and Virginia Baker.

Class of 1939 was the next-to-last senior class to graduate from the old Washington School on Church St, as the new $425,000 Junior-Senior High School was under construction on West Miller St., Class members participating in the senior trip to Washington, D.C. stayed at the Hamilton Hotel with t otal expenses for the trip running about $30 - including spending money.
