Spencer Speedway is back! The Spencer brothers - Delbert, Merle and Walter Spencer - have taken control of the racetrack they sold in 1993 and reinstated the name it had when they built it in 1955. The other big change for 1999 will be the return of the NASCAR New York State Modifieds as the top division for the Friday Night Stock Car Races at the 1/2 mile oval. Spencer Speedway will run Stock Cars on Friday nights under the NASCAR Winston Racing Series Banner with the New York State Modifieds as the featured division. They will be supported by the Spencer Modifieds and the Street Stocks. Spencer Speedway will also run NHRA Drag Racing every Saturday Night now through September 25. The NHRA Drag Racing Program will consist of 5 classes, Pro/Super Pro, Mod ET, Street ET, Motorcycles (includes snowmobiles), and Juniors. The Spencer Brothers will run the Speedway the same way they did for years - as a place for the whole family to have fun.
