Missing Sodus
The Sodus sixth graders made their trip to Stella Maris this past week, I'm sure they had a great time. (My son waited all this time to go and because of the move, didn't get to. But he had a great time on the Cooperstown fifth grade trip.) Speaking of School, everyone is getting ready for Fair Day, which will take place
Friday, June 18. This year's theme will be Tapestry of Arts. If you have anything
you'd like to have added to the The 18th will be a busy day for the Hooper family as well. Doug and Eileen will be closing on their house in Sodus and then it's off to Florida. Along with the usual packing and stress, Brian had his tonsils removed early Wednesday morning at Newark Hospital and, at Sodus Hospital, Eileen's mom, Betty, had surgery on her knee. Even Sandy, the family's miniature Schnauzer, had stitches removed on Monday. Good luck and a speedy recovery to all. (Remember Brian, you can still lift boxes.) Don't forget the registration for the summer reading programs will be coming up at the end of the month. Sodus registration will be Monday, June 28. The Williamson registration will be on Monday, June 21. We always looked forward to registration and getting our packages of neat things. At the Williamson Library on Wednesday, June 16, Barry Chase will speak about his
experiences as The Lennox family went to a Redwings Baseball game the other night, they are true baseball fans! Carol Garland of the Sodus Free Library has informed me that they have received many new books provided by a Federal LSTA CyberTrain Grant. The new titles include: Bad Software: What to do when Software fails Online Family: Your guide to Fun and Discovery in Cyberspace Buying a Computer for Dummies Parenting Online The Best Net for Moms and Dads The Parent's Pocket Guide to Kids and Computers The Macintosh Bible and PC Upgrade and Repair Simplified They sound great and informative. Thanks Carol. (Enjoy your computers. If you're like me, you have to depend on your kids to tell you how they work.) Thanks to everyone who has sent me information to add to the column. It is truly appreciated.(I also appreciated the information about the Newark Town Board meeting and the School Board meeting at the Newark High School. Unfortunately, it was too late for that week's column.) Please keep in touch and keep me informed. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please write to me I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Have a nice week and stay cool. Copyright © 1999 |
