JUNE 25, 1925: There were 12 members in the graduating class at Marion High School. The juniors gave the seniors a reception at the home of Paul Russell, following the Baccalaureate service. A reception was held by the Marion Alumni Assn. on Wednesday, in the auditorium, following commencement on Tuesday.

Chuck and June VerPlank enjoyed the Memorial Day weekend camping at Darien Lake Six Flags, along with daughter Susanne Milliaman.

Next year's sophomore class officers are President Dan DeVeronica, Vice President Angela Johnson, Secretary Chantel Lawliss and Treasurer Peter Stevens.

A baby! Michaela Katherine was born on May 22, weighing 9 lbs. 7 oz., to Marsha VerPlank and Peter Gillens, in Atlanta, GA. Happy grandparents are Chuck and June VerPlank, and great-grandparents are Jim and Anna DeVoogt and Abe VerPlank.

Members and friends of the Historic Assn. are invited to a meeting on June 28 at 7 p.m. at the Marion Museum. There will be discussion of future projects, and the storage of donated materials in the town hall basement.

Jennifer Jean, daughter of Philip and Kathy Isaac, was welcomed into the family of the United Church, through baptism on June 4.

A 55 Alive safe driving course for anyone 50 years and over will be held on July 6 and 7 (6-10 p.m.) at the United Church. To register call Marge DeWind at 926-5460.

The heart is happiest when it beats for others!

Grade 5 Field Days were June 18, and sixth-grade graduation was held on June 21.

June 22 was the Elementary School Picnic; June 23 was Elementary Moving Up Day.

Marion girls JV and varsity basketball teams are having a BOTTLE AND CAN DRIVE on July 10, at the elementary school, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why not travel?

Time to plan trips for August and September.

Jeanne Lewis of Port Gibson Travelers has a trip August 1-4 to the Cortina Inn at Killington, VT and one on Aug. 13 called Rail and Sail to Raquette Lake in the Adirondacks.

Sept. 5-10 is a full trip to Quebec City and Ottawa. Jeanne's phone number is 331.3574. Call now.

Virginia Lupold has a trip on Sept. 21 to the Zippo DeDoo Dah Tour. Call her at 597.4372.

Evelyn Petty at 986.4666 has a Sept. 15 trip planned to Rochester, with a tour of the Stone Tolan House, lunch at Crescent Beach, and guided tour of Rochester, with stops at High Falls and Laberton Conservatory.
