Marion Dollars for Scholars

Thanks to the generosity of the merchants and citizens of Marion, the annual Dollars for Scholars Phone-a-thon this spring raised over $6000. Money was awarded to hard-working Marion seniors at commencement on June 25.

The recipients:

  • Carre Barber will attend Monroe Community College for an associate degree in elementary education.
  • Amanda Boardman will attend Johnson and Wales College in Norfolk, Va. to pursue a career in culinary arts.
  • Jessica Boise will attend SUNY at Fredonia to study music.
  • Joseph Bovet will attend St. John Fisher to study elementary education.
  • Lesley Bush will attend Rochester Institute of Technology for Travel and Tourism Management.
  • Jeanette Claeysen will attend Nazareth College for art education.
  • John Compton will attend Delhi College for landscaping.
  • Jamie DeBryne will attend Finger Lakes Community College for an associate degree in business.
  • Amy Fisher will attend Nazareth to study speech therapy.
  • Sarah Hildebrand will attend Buffalo State College for elementary education.
  • Brandi Holloway will attend SUNY at Oswego for elementary education.
  • Ahlea Howard will attend University of Rochester for a degree in biology.
  • Justin Hutt will attend Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI to study elementary education.
  • Brian Lewis will attend Roberts Wesleyan College to study accounting.
  • Rebecca Lewis will attend Messiah College in Grantham, PA to study biology.
  • Daniel Loucks will study at Rochester Institute of Technology in the field of Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Stephanie Means will study at Syracuse University for art design.
  • Jennifer Phillips will attend Niagara University for liberal arts.
  • Stephanie Richards will attend Roberts Wesleyan College to study in the field of communication.
  • Sarah Schreiber will go to SUNY New Paltz for a degree in international business.
  • Laurel Stanton is taking a 2+2 program at MCC and Nazareth College to prepare to teach elementary school
  • Crystal Wheeler will attend SUNY Albany for theatre arts and English.
  • Melissa Wilson will attend Nazareth College to study speech therapy.
