Baking contest at Newark Grange Ready, set, bake! On Friday, March 19, beginning at 6 p.m., a jelly roll baking contest will be held at Newark Grange #366. The contest is open to all Grange members. Each contestant will enter a jelly roll which has been baked in a 15 1/2 x 10 1/4 x 5/8 jelly roll pan. No commercial mixes are allowed. Entries should be accompanied by the contestant's name, Grange number, and recipe that was used in preparation. Scoring will be done on the basis of general appearance (shape, size), texture, and the taste and even speeading of the filling. Judges for the conest are Mrs. Frank Munson and James Erway.
