Bye, Bye Birdie at Sodus Sodus has been buzzing with the anticipation of Conrad Birdie going into the army, as students rehearse Bye Bye Birdie. The show is a musical comedy set in the 1950's. The famous rock musician, Conrad Birdie, (David Meyer) has been drafted into the Army. His agent, Albert Peterson, (Eric Rittinger) and Albert's secretary, Rose Alvarez (Erica Mayou) are in charge of seeing this superstar off, so they can finally be married. Kim MacAfee, played by Amy Polochock, is the lucky girl who gets to kiss Conrad before he goes into the army on the Ed Sullivan Show. Her somewhat crazy father, Mr. MacAfee, played by George Steffler, is annoyed to see his daughter being so crazed over this rock idol. Supporting roles are filled by Therese McKinny-Wood as Mrs. Mae Peterson, "mama," Albert's purse-clutching, overbearing mother, who is sure to bring many laughs. Charity VanAcker plays Mrs. MacAfee, and Kristin Hendrix and Doug Blackall play Ursula Merkle and Hugo Peabody, respectively. Hayley Stevenson is the gum twirling Gloria Rasputin, and Ian Kerr is Randolph MacAfee, Kim's little brother. Other cast members are Miranda DeFisher as Helen, Kate Coppens as Deborah Sue, Elizabeth Bartleson as Alice, and Shannon Murphy as Mrs. Merkle. The teen and adult chorus consists of Danny Autovino, Ryan Blackall, Stacy Bond, Elisabeth Clark, Abby Deen-Clingan, Mike Cornelius, Jessica Ellis, Ryan Fitzsimmons, Carrie Gilchrist, Adam Hawley, Samantha Knapp, Caitlin Lukacs, Shannah Mason, Fanysha McCray, Brienne Meyer, Chad Moorman, Sarah O'Brien, Nancy Pettit, Andrea Sawyer, Anna Sawyer, Nick Stevenson, Tim Thebert, Stephanie Thurston, and Courtney VanAcker.
