Work is progressing rapidly to make the Arcadia Historical Museum ready to open this coming Newarkfest weekend. The museum is on the corner of High and Mason Streets in Newark. The entire building interior, which will be the display area, has been painted and new carpeting has been laid throughout. For the time being, the pews of the former Christ Science Church will be left in the large area for the purpose of membership meetings, periodic lectures and other gatherings. Investigation is ongoing concerning the 48-year-old furnace and the desire to add air conditioning so that a suitable climate can be maintained year-round (for both the artifacts and visitors). Sufficient money has been donated to pay for the completed projects and those under consideration. However, more money is needed to purchase equipment and display materials.
