Missing Sodus Well, we made it through another beautiful week. The weather was perfect for last week's picnic. I'm not sure about what this weekend will bring - All those communion parties that are planned. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for really nice weather.
Happy May birthday to Susan Hooper who will be celebrating her 9th birthday on the 8th. There will be a Used Book Sale at the Williamson Library, Wednesday May 12 and Thursday, May 13 (10 a.m. - 8 p.m. both days); and Friday, May 14 from 10 to 5 ($l a bag sale day). The book sale will be held in the Program room on the lower level of the library. (They always have a lot of great books for sale, as my book shelf can tell the tale.) At the Church of Epiphany, 27 children will be celebrating their first Communion this Sunday (May 9). I will have a list of the children hopefully in the next column. On May 10, 22 children will be celebrating their Confirmation. (Four children will be celebrating both their first Communion and Confirmation.) Congratulations to each of them.
The other day at a picnic, I met someone who is in charge of the Genesee Valley Boxer Rescue Program. At the time, they do have Boxers in need of placement so, if you're interested, check out the web site. Boxers are great dogs who are loyal, love to play and love being a part of a family. The dogs were given to the group for various, sad reasons. If you're interested, let me know. Did you know that there is someone in Sodus who is a part of the Golden Retriever Rescue? I'll get you more information on that one as well. Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms. (Take your Mom somewhere special; do something nice for her and remember to tell her how much you love and appreciate her. It's always nice to hear.) Thank you to everyone who sent me information on their special events and remember to send me yours, too (I really must be tired after all the Sarah training - I almost forgot my e-mail address!) Have a great week. Copyright © 1999 |
