Heirloom Day at Newark Library

The Newark Public Library will hold "Heirloom Day" on Saturday, May 22. Antiques expert Ed Cornwell of Rochester will be in the library's Community Room from Noon to 2:30 p.m. to give verbal appraisals on antiques.

An appraisal of one item will cost $4; half of that amount benefits the library.

Cornwell is well known for his expertise on antiques. He regularly appears at the Wayne County Antique Dealers' shows and presents one or more programs at the Newark Library each year. He will appraise almost any item that can be carried into the library. If he cannot provide background information and value on an article, you will not be charged.

Appointments are not necessary. However, private appraisals are available for people wanting them; call the library at 331-4370 to arrange for a private appraisal. The library is located at 121 High St., Newark.
