College courses offered at Sodus

Cayuga County Community College is offering two college extension courses this summer at Sodus Central High School. Each course is for three college credits. Robert W. Meneely, Adjunct Associate Professor at CCCC will teach both classes.

Political Science 207: U.S. Constitution, will be taught Monday and Wednesday evenings. This course introduces the study of public law; covers separation and delegation of government powers; the federal system; powers of the national government; the judicial function and its limitations; due process of law; and civil liberties.

History 210: American Military History, will be taught on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. This course traces the development of American military thought as well as the evaluation of military technology and weaponry with emphasis on wars fought by the United States. The course also includes discussion of the current status of military technology and the future of warfare.

In the event that only one course is being taught, the class will meet on Mondays and Thursdays. Registration for these courses will take place on Thursday evening, June 10 from 7 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. in room 253 of the Sodus Junior-Senior High School. Classes will start the week of June 28.

Books and materials (supplied by CCCC) will be handed out at the first class. Credits from these courses may be transferred to the college of the student's choice. You may want to check the college catalogue.
