Services this weekend to rename Newark bridge

Village officials invite the public to a ceremony this Sunday, Sept. 12 for the renaming and dedication of the East Ave. bridge.

The bridge underwent reconstruction last year, and opened in late December. The structure, which spans the Erie Canal, will be named the Newark Veterans Memorial Bridge.

The ceremony begins at 2 p.m. and will include a guest speaker from NYS Governor George Pataki's office, Tina Nadelin.
